CITYWIDE CLEAN-UP ON INTERNATIONAL EARTH DAY
On April 22, 2023, on the International Earth Day, the administration, staff, faculty and students of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in a citywide clean-up. The subbotnik is aimed at carrying out works on landscaping, landscaping and sanitary cleaning. Sunny weather and good mood made it possible to remove the territory allocated to the department from garbage and dry leaves. Earth Day is a rather interesting ecological holiday created in order to draw people's attention to the fact that the ecosystem of our planet is very fragile and convince them to treat it as carefully as possible. Earth Day, or rather the International Mother Earth Day on April 22. In all countries, various events are organized for the improvement and greening of the planet, as well as class conferences and exhibitions are held in honor of such an important day. On the same day, scientists from all over the world gather and discuss various environmental problems that certainly need to be solved. Regularly during the celebration, all concerned people are called upon to make their contribution: to remove garbage, plant a tree or a flower. Everyone can do something useful: become a volunteer, refuse to use a car for a day, carefully spend resources. The holiday forms a careful attitude to the environment. This day reminds us that for a normal existence it is necessary to keep the air, water and land clean. The planet turned out to be much more vulnerable than people thought. Its existence is threatened not only by large-scale pollution, but also by the total destruction of natural resources under the influence of anthropogenic factors.
