In the period of May 11-13 and May 15-17, an on-site visit of the expert commission evaluating the quality of educational programmes (EP) took place at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. This stage is part of the programme accreditation process aimed at improving the quality of education and confirming the compliance of a higher educational institution with established standards.
Experts invited specifically for this task conducted a thorough check of 28 educational programs of the following faculties: Journalism, Medicine and Healthcare, Philology, Law, Physics and Technology, International Relations, Geography and Environmental Management, and Mechanics and Mathematics. During the visit, the expert commission held meetings with vice-rectors of the University, heads of structural divisions, deans of accredited educational institutions, heads of departments and coordinators of educational institutions, teaching staff, students, as well as employers.
In addition, the experts visited the practice bases of the EP, where they were able to assess the quality of equipment, the availability of necessary resources, as well as the interaction of students with employers and mentors in practice.
