On October 10, 2023, a teleconference "Almaty-New York: the Police of the Future" was held, organized by the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics. The participants of the teleconference were students, undergraduates, doctoral students of the department and Dimash Niyazov, a New York City police officer. Dimash Niyazov was born in Turkestan region. As a teenager, he emigrated with his family and has been living in the United States for more than 13 years. He works for the New York Police Department (NYPD) and patrols Brooklyn neighborhoods. In 2017, Dimash Niyazov was recognized as the best policeman. During the teleconference, a constructive exchange of opinions, ideas, innovations on professional training and police activities in Kazakhstan and America took place. Dimash Niyazov told about himself, about choosing the profession of a policeman, about his career growth, in general, about the work of the New York police. In turn, students and undergraduates told about how they study at the Faculty of Law, what prospects they see in the profession, expressed their pride in their fellow countryman.
An interesting motivational communication took place.
The teleconference was organized within the framework of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 "Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions".
