Purpose and topics of the conference

The 2021 climate summit (COP26) adopted a final agreement, the Glasgow Climate Pact, which aims to keep global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius. Achieving this goal becomes especially relevant at a time when many developing economies show their unwillingness to abandon fossil fuels, primarily coal and oil. Therefore, the search for new energy sources with a neutral or low carbon footprint becomes an urgent need. The world experience in the development of RES over the past 25 years gives us certain signals about what awaits countries that intend to carry out a new energy transition. First of all, it is the need to solve many technological problems: the development of the RES segment has led to the creation of new segments in the economy and the development of infrastructure, and as a result, contributed to the social and economic transformation of entire regions. Therefore, it should be expected that the new energy transition has not only a technological dimension, but also a socio-economic one. In this regard, the creation of a systemic toolkit (information technology, managerial, infrastructure and mathematical methods and models) for monitoring and analyzing the processes of technological and socio-economic transformation in the context of energy transitions will make it possible to “work ahead of the curve” in order to ensure a more balanced trajectory of the country's economic development .

The purpose of the conference is to discuss the results of systematic research on the main drivers and consequences of the "green transition".

Thematic sections of the conference

1. Coal industry and coal energy in the context of energy transition.

2. Mathematical models of the energy transition.

3. Technologies and materials for a low-carbon economy.

4. The transport mobility in the context of the transition to a low-carbon economy.

5. System of models of information technology and digital support for energy transition management.

6. Prospects for the development of nuclear and hydrogen energy in low-carbon economic systems.

7. Environmental sustainability, social responsibility of society and decarbonization of the economy.
