KazNU hosted a conference for the Day of the Republic

In the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held an international scientific-practical conference "Constitutional development of Kazakhstan as a democratic state: theory and practice", timed to the Day of the Republic and dedicated to the memory of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Law, Professor Sultan Sartayevich Sartayev.

The conference was organized by the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law of the Faculty of Law of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi.

The event was held within the framework of implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals aimed at building a peaceful, open and democratic society for its sustainable development.

The conference was attended by leading scientists of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, representatives of government agencies of Kazakhstan, international and national experts, representatives of civil society, human rights organizations, teachers and students of universities, representatives of the media.

Zhamila Aitzhanova, member of the Board, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Activities of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. Congratulating the participants on the Day of the Republic, she said: "The conference is dedicated to the memory of Academician Sultan Sartayevich Sartayev, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of sustainable development of Kazakhstan society, the constitutional foundations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the creation of an effective system of public administration. In his works Academician Sultan Sartaev developed the idea of the sovereignty of Kazakhstan, raised the issues of development of the state language, creation of an effective mechanism for the protection of human rights, the creation of sustainable institutions of public administration at the highest level".

At the meeting also spoke: Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Law, Professor of the Institute "Sorbonne-Kazakhstan" S.N. Sabikenov S.N. Sabikenov, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Professor of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law E.K. Nurpeisov, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan, State Prize Laureate, Doctor of Technical Sciences B.K. Aliyarov, Judge of the Constitutional Court, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor A.E. Zhatkanbaeva and others.

 During the conference were discussed topical issues of constitutional development of Kazakhstan as a democratic, legal, secular and social state. And also the questions concerning the constitutional reform in Kazakhstan, the ideas of academician S.S. Sartayev about the sovereign state of the Republic of Kazakhstan, new legal initiatives of the head of the state aimed at ensuring the peaceful development of Kazakhstan in the global space were considered.
