SDG 12. Samsung Recycling School Competition

Samsung Electronics Central Eurasia has launched the Recycling School eco-project for Almaty universities. Its goal is to popularize the separate collection and disposal of electronic waste among young people .
Within the framework of the project, special containers for the collection of electronic waste have been installed on the territory of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Students will be able to hand over used small electronic equipment of any brand:

• phones

• tablets

• accessories (chargers, headphones, watches, batteries, etc.

• and other small-sized electronic equipment.
The competition is aimed at raising awareness, developing a culture of reasonable consumption and careful attitude to resources among the younger generation and Universities and was held in order to form an ecological culture, popularize the separate collection and disposal of electronic waste among young people, increase interest in environmental protection, reduce negative impact on the environment.According to the results of the calculation of the collected electronics waste from Eco-boxes within the Samsung Recycling School competition, our university took first place and at the event "Come to the Green side!" (Go to the green side) received an Interactive display Samsung Flip 2 55".
