The right direction of choosing a future profession for school students is one of the most important steps

On October 13, 2023, at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Faculty of History held a meeting with school children in grades 10-11 of the “Secondary School named after Rakhimzhan Tokataev” of the Enbekshikazak district, Esik. The school administration and teachers also attended the meeting. Speakers at the meeting included the dean of the Faculty of History, Baigunakov Dosbol Suleimenuly, the deputy dean for teaching, methodological, and educational work, Acting Associate Professor Terekbaeva Zhazira Makhmudovna, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Archeology, Ethnology and Museology of the Faculty of History Omarov Gani Kalikhanuly, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of History of Kazakhstan Arynov Zhumakan Makanuly. Kasymbekova Zhadyra Zhakypbekovina, deputy director for methodological work of the Secondary School named after Rakhimzhan Tokataev, history teacher Omirzhan Ergalym Musauli, Duisekeeva Karlygash Amantaevna and other school leaders and teachers were also present as guests.
Dean of the Faculty of History Baigunakov Dosbol Suleimenuly spoke about the features of the specialty “History”, and noted that the specialty has a great future, and noted that the field of application of the specialty is wide, and explained the prospects for development and work after graduation.
In addition, the Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Omarov Gani Kalikhanuly spoke about archaeological excavations in antiquity, current problems of the history of colonization, scientific problems in the field of protection, preservation, and restoration of historical and cultural monuments and emphasized the need to implement international scientific projects in the future. In turn, Arynov Zhumakan Makanuly, the Candidate of Historical Sciences, and senior lecturer at the Department of History of Kazakhstan, familiarized students with information about educational programs and gave recommendations on what specialization they would receive in the future. During the meeting, schoolchildren asked questions about choosing a future profession and received appropriate answers. A memorandum of bilateral cooperation was also signed.
