Dear colleagues, students and guests!

The Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Faculty of Philology and the UNESCO Department of Journalism and Communication of the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University invite you to take part in a thematic week dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the outstanding statesman and public figure T.K. Zhurgenov, which will be held from December 4 to 8, 2023.
The following events are planned as part of the Week:

1. Excursion to the museum of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov “In the footsteps of T. Zhurgenov”
Date: December 4, 2023
Time: from 10.00 to 13.00 
Address: Almaty, st. Panfilova, 127

Goal and tasks:
- familiarization of students with museum exhibits, manuscripts, books, documentary materials related to the life and activities of the outstanding statesman and public figure Temirbek guard Zhurgenov;
  - introducing students to interesting facts from the life of T.K. Zhurgenov;
- instilling in the younger generation patriotism and respect for the culture and literature of their country;
- familiarization with the history of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after Temirbek Zhurgenov, tour of the building;

2. Lectures on Jurgen studies

Lecturers: Chairman of the Public Foundation named after Temirbek Zhurgenov, Honorary Citizen of the city of Kyzylorda, holder of the Order of “Kurmet” Sapen Abdykadyrovich Ansatov; writer, publicist, candidate of historical sciences Koishybaev Beibit Orynbekovich; member of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan, cultural figure, candidate of philological sciences, Jurgenologist-scientist Imangaliev Bauyrzhan Sabitovich

Goal and tasks:
- familiarization with research works in the field of Jurgen studies;
- familiarizing students with information about the place and significance of the works of the prominent statesman and public figure T.K. Zhurgenov in journalism and domestic literary criticism,

3. Viewing and discussion of a documentary film about T.K. Zhurgenov

- familiarizing students with the biography of T.K. Zhurgenova;

4. International scientific and practical conference “THE SPIRITUAL HERITAGE OF T. ZHURGENOV AND GOALS OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION”, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the 125th anniversary of the prominent statesman and public figure, one of the founders of this educational institution, Temirbek Zhurgenova

Purpose and objectives of the conference:
- popularization of the life and spiritual heritage of the statesman T. Zhurgenov, studying his contribution to the development of science, education, culture and art in Central Asia and Kazakhstan;
- T. Zhurgenov and higher school of Kazakhstan: history and lessons;
- identifying the relationship and integration of the spheres of culture, education, media communications.

5. Award ceremony for the winners of the essay competition “Temirbek Zhurgenov – an outstanding personality of the Turkic world”
