The Head of State received Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev

At the meeting, the President was familiarized with the activities of the university in terms of training specialists and research work. In addition, the Rector presented to the Head of State the strategic development plan of KazNU, which will celebrate its 90th anniversary next year.

According to Zhanseit Tuimebaev, at the moment the university is implementing 400 scientific projects, the total cost of which is 8.1 billion tenge.

Kasym-Jomart Tokayev was also informed that on October 12, a branch of the Chinese North-West Polytechnic University started its work on the basis of KazNU. The agreement on opening of this branch was signed during the official visit of the President of Kazakhstan to China in May this year.

The head of state was reported on realization of the second stage of construction of KazNU campus from 2024 to 2026. It is planned to build eight academic buildings, technology park and 12 dormitories. In the near future the construction of three dormitories for 3180 places will begin.

At the end of the meeting Kasym-Jomart Tokayev gave specific instructions to improve the quality of education, increase the contribution of science to the development of the country and modernization of the campus.
