THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE «GLOBAL TRENDS OF WORLD DEVELOPMENT: REALITIES AND PROSPECTS»

The first of December, 2023 faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has organized the International scientific and practical conference «Global trends of world development: realities and prospects» devoted to the 80th anniversary of the First Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Zhambatyrova Gulzhauhar Shagatayevna (1943-2002).

Gulzhauhar Shagatayevna was the first dean of the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (1995-2002), she made a huge contribution to the development of the faculty and to the training of the first Kazakh foreign affairs experts and professional diplomats, many of whom have today reached leading positions in the diplomatic service, in the state authorities of the country.

The plenary session of the conference were addressed by A.A. Arenova - Head of the Department of Political Cooperation at the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Vlastimil Samek - Representative of the UN Department of Global Communications in Almaty, Professors Z.A. Mansurov, M.M. Burkitbayev, E.B. Zhakanbayev, K.I. Baizakova, K.N. Shakirov, R.S. Kaiyrbayeva, L.S. Akhmetova, E.D. Suleimenova, N.B. Em Yem, G.N. Kim, D.K. Zhekenov, Y.T. Seylehanov, etc. A video about Guljauhar Shagataevna’s life path was shown during the conference. First dean’s conference hall of the Faculty of International Relations has been completely renovated.

Lazar - head of Foreign policy department, from E.Meirkhanov - deputy head of the Protocol service of the President, from N.Meirmanov - inspector of the Foreign policy department, and from A.Stybayev - expert of the Foreign policy department, from the Advisor on Press and Communications of the Office of the UN Permanent Coordinator in Kazakhstan E.Bainazarova, from the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation A.Tynybek.

Graduates of the Faculty of International Relations of various years sent an address to the conference.

Reports of foreign and local speakers were heard at the plenary and section sessions of the conference. The key parameters of the development of modern international relations, foreign policy and diplomacy were discussed; the main trends of policy, international law, economy, international security were considered; promising scenarios and opportunities for Kazakhstan’s foreign policy and diplomacy were presented.
