Scientific internship between two Kazakhstani national universities

Second-year master's degree students of the Department of General Biology and Genomics of the L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University are undergoing a scientific internship at the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University from November 6th to 19th, 2023.

This traditional internship provides an opportunity to get acquainted with the academic environment, equipment and research capabilities of our university. The scientific internship, held annually, promotes the exchange of experience between students and promotes in-depth interaction in the field of biology and biodiversity. Currently, undergraduates are interning under the scientific supervision of associate professors of the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources – Asem Tleuzhankyna Mamurova, Nursultan Ziyakhankyna Akhtayeva and Zharkova Irina Maratovna.  During the internship, participants are fully immersed in the activities of the Department for the study of biodiversity and bioresources, and scientific experience is exchanged.

In addition, students have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with laboratory equipment used in research, which contributes to the expansion of their methodological competencies.

Also an important aspect of the internship is an in-depth understanding of the educational and scientific infrastructure of the university, which contributes to more effective interaction between educational institutions. This initiative, which has become a tradition, complements the educational process by providing students with a unique experience and stimulating active participation in the academic environment.
