Another scientific journal of KazNU is included in the Scopus!
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University shares good news - journal of mechanical and mathematical faculty “Journal of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science” is included in the largest scientific database Scopus. This is confirmation of the correctness of the direct of KazNU on internationalization and formation of research university.
Scientific publication “Journal of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science” is published under the guidance of leading Kazakh and foreign scientists, who constitute the editorial board of the journal. The materials of the publication highlight the latest current problems and achievements in the field of mathematics, mechanics and information technology. Along with Scopus, the journal is also indexed in other known scientific databases such as CrossRef, EBSCO, DOAJ, Elibrary, and Web of Science. In 2022, the journal was included in the Web of Science database, and this year received the first impact factor of journal. The journal’s publications are cited in the proceedings of prestigious international conferences and in scientific journals with high ratings.
Scopus - the world’s largest abstract database, which allows to determine the level of citation of articles of scientific publications. The database contains more than 20,000 editions from 5,000 international publishers. Scopus data quality is recognized by leading universities and research organizations that use this database to assess research work, as well as rating agencies to compile world university rankings. According to the selection policy of the Scopus by the Content Selection Advisory Board, publication of scientific articles in a journal relevant to an international audience is an important and decisive criterion for the inclusion of the journal in the database. So, “Journal of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science” went through the expert evaluation and selection criterias such as academic contribution to the research field, citation of journal articles in Scopus, geographical distribution of editors and authors, clear and publicly available statements of publication ethics and more.
Published in the “Journal of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science” articles highly rated by the Scopus database experts, which makes a worthy contribution to the international scientific prestige of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, especially in connection with the 90th anniversary of our university.
It should be noted that the journal Vestnik KazNU. Series Mathematics, Mechanics and Informatics» is the third scientific edition of al-Farabi KazNU included in the Scopus database. The International Journal of Mathematics and Physics and the journal Physical Sciences and Technology are already indexed in database. The inclusion of another scientific journal in the prestigious scientometric database will undoubtedly contribute to further promotion of the university in subject rankings QS World University Rankings by Subject and Times Higher Education World University Ranking by Subject.
