4 - Quality Education, 16 - Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and 17 - Partnerships

An important event at the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) was the training seminar on administrative law that took place this week, on February 8, 2024. This training seminar was traditionally held within the framework of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such goals as  4 - Quality Education, 16 - Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and 17 - Partnerships. It is noteworthy that this was not a completely traditional seminar, as senior students, members of the scientific community "Fair Law," who have three years of training in courses such as "General Administrative Law," "Administrative Responsibility" (administrative tort law), and "Administrative Procedural Law," attended alongside first-year students. The main aspects covered were "Administrative Justice" and "Administrative Process." The teaching of these disciplines is emphasized by Dr. N.Kh. Kalisheva, a Doctor of Law and Associate Professor, reflecting the administrative reforms in Kazakhstan and adopting a new approach to teaching administrative law as one of the branches of public law and the legal basis of public administration. Members of the scientific community, many of whom actively participate in republican and international conferences, olympiads, and innovative projects in administrative law (such as Klara Konakbayeva, Dayana Taipova, Bogdan Zhakitov, Artur Day, Nurmukhamed Sabetbekov), initiated the sharing of their knowledge, which is essentially new to modern Kazakhstan, regarding the public nature of management and the essence of administrative justice, serving as living guides to the Administrative Procedural Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (APC RK). It is thought that this event will be appreciated by first-year students and also create a platform for involving them in the scientific community, which is always welcomed by the department and faculty leadership. The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Baideldinov Daulet Laikovich, who delivered a welcoming speech, supported the initiatives of the scientific community, and encouraged first-year students to become more actively involved in legal activities and to enrich their industry knowledge through participation in the scientific life of the Faculty of Law. The organization and conduct of the training seminar were assisted by the teaching staff of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law at the Faculty of Law of KazNU. The lecturer was Dr. N.Kh. Kalisheva, a Doctor of Law and Associate Professor, and the seminar was facilitated by legal practitioner and member of the city bar, Smagulova S.K., who holds a Master of Legal Sciences degree. Such joint events between educators of administrative and legal disciplines and legal practitioners promote maximum unity in teaching, assist in enriching educational content, and encourage self-improvement.
