On the eve of the memorable date – the 35th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, the military department of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a patriotic action "Oath of military loyalty!", with the participation of teachers of the military department of internationalist soldiers, reserve Colonel Kozhakhmetov, Khasen Koishygaraevich, reserve Colonel Khat Vadim Eduardovich and retired lieutenant Colonel Alexander Nikolaevich Shashatsky.
Opening the patriotic action, the head of the military department, Colonel of the reserve Azhimov O.V. noted that in the period from 1979 to 1989, over 22 thousand internationalist soldiers from Kazakhstan passed through the crucible of the Afghan war, all the soldiers participating in that war showed the best qualities of a soldier, officer, internationalist soldier and adequately fulfilled their military duty and they were faithful to the military oath!
As part of the patriotic campaign, Courage lessons were held with students studying at the military department, students of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University College, the gymnasium of the Bobek National Center, the ASPM Physics and Mathematics School and Gymnasium No. 132 in Almaty. In total, the campaign covered more than 700 schoolchildren and over 800 students.
Honored veterans, speaking to students, recalled their comrades-in-arms, talked about what they had to experience in the war. They endured all hardships with dignity, showing military valor, courage and heroism, this was facilitated by the real military camaraderie shown by our soldiers and officers in the course of fulfilling their international duty.
Director General of the Bobek National Center Bayan Fayzullina, Director of the ASPM Physics and Mathematics School Naila Tekin and Director of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University College Rayhan Yerkebai expressed deep gratitude to the leadership of the military Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Afghan veterans for their active work on military-patriotic education of the younger generation of Kazakhstanis. And on February 15, 2023, students of the military department together with teachers took part in the flower-laying ceremony and the meeting of internationalist soldiers in the park named after 28 Panfilov heroes in Almaty.
