The event "Festival of Friendship of the People of Kazakhstan", held within the framework of the SDGs, dedicated to the Nauryz holiday

On March 19, 2024, staff of the Department of Economics of the HSEB held the “Festival of Friendship of the Peoples of Kazakhstan”, with the aim of expanding students’ knowledge about the life of people of other nationalities living in Kazakhstan, their culture, customs, and national art.

For Kazakhstan, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a national priority. The principles of sustainable development have become the core of our national strategies and programs. We must strengthen international cooperation in technical support, research and risk assessment under the auspices of the UN. The Sustainable Development Goals are the path to a better world for all. This event is held within the framework of SDGs: 4 “Quality Education” and 17 “Partnerships for the Goals”.

Each nation has a rich culture. Stories, legends, and traditions are passed down from generation to generation. Different people tell different fairy tales, different songs are sung to children in the cradle. But all of them are united by the desire to live in happiness, peace, and friendship.

Students and undergraduates from 10 countries, including Kazakhstan, study at the Department of Economics. Due to these students, we’ve experienced an incredible feeling of different nations. We saw a lot of interesting things and got acquainted with the creativity of different people. Countries participating in this festival: Indonesia, Iran, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China and Kazakhstan.

Each country made a presentation about the achievements and culture of their country, and performed national songs and dances. This festival was attended by students and undergraduates of the OP “Journalism” and “Jurisprudence”.

The festival gave students a sense of pride in their country, their people, respect for the traditions and customs of other peoples, and made it possible to further unite students and undergraduates of different faculties living under the same Shanyrak of Farabi University.
