Prize-winner of the innovative project

Students of Al-Farabi KazNU won the competition of the innovative project "Farabi Project Challenge – 2024", which was held within the framework of the international digital forum "Digital Farabi – 2024".

The purpose of the competition is to develop students ' creative abilities and motivation for knowledge in the field of Information Technology, increase interest in research activities and learning, as well as identify and support talented young scientists.

According to Timur Imankulov, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor of the Department of Computer Science, such competitions are an interesting way to support the formation of the intellectual potential of the country's youth. Eight teams of kaznu students took part in the competition, which passed two stages. According to the student Didar Moldakhmetov, the topics of the competition were complex and interesting, it took a lot of time to analyze and answer. Students completed tasks on four topics. The first of them is the"Intelligent Information System for monitoring tourist routes". In it, the contestants had to recognize unique people from camera recordings and draw a road map of their journey. At the second stage, students identified cases of similarity between people on existing routes when unique people did not appear on camera recordings for a long time.

The second and third theme was:" Development of an AI application for personalized training instructions"," artificial intelligence for optimizing public transport schedules (AI)".

The contestants have developed more than eight interesting projects. Students defended the results of their projects in front of a qualified jury.

According to the results of the II Stage (final) of the competition" Farabi Project Challenge 2024", the 1st place was awarded to the Samson Dawit team, the 2nd place was taken by Nurtugan Azatbekovich, Serik aibagarov, Yersultan Amanbay and the 3rd place was taken by Aida Begaidarova and Didar Moldakhmetov. The prize fund of the competition for the 1st place was 150,000 tenge and a laptop, 2nd place – 100,000 tenge and 3rd place-75,000 tenge.

At the end of the event, dean of the Faculty of Information Technology Turar Olzhas congratulated the winning students and thanked the sponsors of ASUS Education and Bugin Holding.
