In KazNU discussed new approaches to the study of Al-Farabi's heritage
Within the framework of the 90th anniversary of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University the III International Farabi Forum started.
The aim of the event is to explore the rich heritage of the scholar from a new perspective, to bring together domestic and foreign farabievers and to differentiate new research.
The conference "Al-Farabi and the spiritual heritage of the Kazakh people" was attended by Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Muderrisoglu Evren, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty Faghani Muhsin, Honorary Consul of Syria in Kazakhstan Dereh Samir, Rector of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak, Prof. Muhammad Al-Jindi, Diplomat of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty. Almaty Fagani Muhsin, Honorary Consul of Syria in Kazakhstan Dereh Samir, Rector of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak, Professor Mohammed al-Jindi, diplomats, scientists from universities of the USA, Russia, Italy, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Iran and teachers of the university.
Rector of KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev noted that in-depth analysis and ranking of Farabi's works is the main task of modern scientists-Farabiyed.
"The phenomenon of al-Farabi is a truly unprecedented phenomenon. Abu Nasr al-Farabi is not only a great thinker, but also a scientist who contributed to the spiritual growth of mankind. Thanks to fundamental studies and research work of the country's scientists, the name of Abu Nasr al-Farabi, whose heritage originates in Turkic culture and spirituality, has become a cultural symbol and national pride. Since the sixties of the last century Akzhan Mashani, Agyn Kasymzhanov, Mukash Burabaev, Anuar Alimzhanov, Muzaffar Khairullaev, Audanbek Kobesov, Artur Sagadeev, Kubigul Zharykbaev contributed to the study and popularization of al-Farabi's heritage. Now the works of the previous generation of Farabieds should be continued by younger scientists," the rector said.
In turn, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty Muderrisoglu Evren said: "Al-Farabi is a person who made his special contribution not only to the Turkic world, but also to the Islamic world. His works and philosophical thoughts have still not lost their relevance. Therefore, I believe that comprehensive consideration of Farabi's works and scientific research will never cease. In this context, the forum, which is traditionally held in KazNU, provides ample opportunities to study the heritage of al-Farabi in a new direction".
At the international scientific-practical conference, Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty Faghani Muhsin noted that the scientist al-Farabi contributed to the development of the vocabulary of the Arabic language.
"Abu Nasr al-Farabi is well known to the Iranian people as one of the unique scientists. The thinker was active in medicine, philosophy, science, education and other fields. His every thought, opinion is very valuable. He made a great contribution to strengthening the vocabulary of the Arabic language, contributed to the development of science and human consciousness," Faghani Muhsin said.
During the meeting, the presentation of the multi-volume book "Anthology of Turkish Philosophy" published on the initiative of the Kazakh Committee of the Philosophical Society of Turkic Peoples and scholars of educational institutions was held. The 4-volume edition includes texts and scientific analyses provided by them concerning philosophical and religious-mythological worldview of Turkic peoples and nationalities inhabiting the Great Steppe since ancient times. A cycle of al-Farabi's works was given, emphasizing the spiritual essence of Turkish civilization in the era when the thinker lived. The place and role of the scientist in Turkish culture and philosophy are also evaluated.
During the conference, reports were delivered by Dereh Samir, Honorary Consul of Syria in Kazakhstan, Rector of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak, Professor Mohammed al-Jindi, foreign scholars and Farabi scholars.
The work of the conference continued in the sections, where the participants discussed a wide range of topical issues related to the integration of science and education, improvement of spiritual, moral and personal culture of modern society. Scientists also considered topical issues of socio-humanitarian science, such as the heritage of Al-Farabi and current problems of Farabi studies.
It should be noted that a collection of scientific reports and researches of scientists will be published within the framework of the forum.
