On April 5, 2024, the 2nd exhibition of creative works "BioArt" on the theme: "The Power of Nature over Time" was held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The purpose of the exhibition was to draw attention to the problems of climate change (SDG 13), biodiversity conservation (SDG 15), modern problems of biology and genetics, as well as the development of creative thinking.
More than 120 works were presented in the form of artistic drawings and sculptures made in various techniques. The exhibition was attended by students of the art studios "Star of David" and "Raphael", students and schoolchildren.
This topic turned out to be close to both children and adults, so the age of the participants at the exhibition had no boundaries, the works of children aged 3 to 7 years old and paintings of adult wise people were next to each other.
In their works, the participants showed the unity of man and nature, fantasized about the future, revealed the beauty of our mountains, and of course showed the power of nature over time and technological progress.
The best works were awarded with prizes and certificates.
During the exhibition, participants and guests visited the biological museum, talked with teachers and faculty management.
Together with the Department of Biodiversity and Bioresources, the student club "Club of a Young Scientist", undergraduates, doctoral students and graduates took part in the organization of the exhibition.
The prizes were provided by the staff of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, the "Institute of Hydrobiology and Ecology" of Almaty and the Kazakhstan Association for the Conservation of Biodiversity and Bioresources.
