Alan Buribayev was born on May 30, 1979 in Alma-Ata into a family of musicians. In 1996, the Buribayev family lived in Greece, where the young man studied violin. During the same period, he was the general music director of the Meiningen State Opera of Southern Thuringia (Germany). At the age of 25, he staged operas: “The Tales of Hoffmann” by J. Offenbach, “Idomeneo” and “The Wedding of Figaro” by V.A. Mozart, “Jenufa” by L. Janacek, “Free Shooter” by K.M. von Weber, “Salome” by R. Strauss, “Mona Lisa” by von Schillings, “Il Trovatore” by G. Verdi, “Die Flying Dutchman” by R. Wagner.

In 2006-2011 – chief conductor of the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra (Sweden) and at the same time chief conductor of the Brabant Orchestra (Netherlands). Since 2010 – music director of the National Symphony Orchestra of Radio and Television of Ireland (Dublin).

Alan Buribayev regularly collaborates with major philharmonic orchestras: Dresden, London, Rotterdam Orchestras, Oslo Orchestra, German Symphony Orchestra (Berlin), Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Symphony Orchestra, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Melbourne Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and etc. He conducted the opera “The Queen of Spades” by P. Tchaikovsky at the National Opera of Lyon.

Alan Buribayev worked with the honored ensemble of Russia - the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Orchestra of Russia, guest conductor of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia and NHK (the most famous orchestra in Japan) in Tokyo.

The conductor's repertoire includes almost all the best examples of world musical literature: works by Western European, Russian, and Soviet composers. When conducting abroad, Alan Askarovich always promotes the music of Kazakh composers: Kurmangazy, L. Hamidi, A. and G. Zhubanov, M. Sagatov, T.A. Bestybaev, which always arouse keen interest of the public.

In 2012, the European premiere of the pearl of the Kazakh national opera “Abai” by A. Zhubanov and L. Hamidi took place on the stage of the State Opera of Southern Thuringia in a new edition by Buribayev, directed by Ansgar Haas (Germany). Abai's part was performed by Dae Hee Shin (Republic of Korea), the remaining parts were performed by a cast of soloists from Europe and Latin America.

Since 2015, Alan Askarovich has been the chief conductor of the Astana Opera Theater and, at the same time, the chief guest conductor of the Osaka Symphony Orchestra (Japan). Alan Buribaev is the first prize winner (1999) of the International Conducting Competition named after.
