April 9, 2024 teachers of the Department of Biotechnology doctor of biological sciences, professor Karpenyuk T.A., candidate of biological sciences, associate professor Goncharova A.V. held a meeting on the topic “Decent work and economic growth” with 3rd year students of the specialty “Biotechnology”.
The scientific field in Kazakhstan is aging due to the high average age of its workforce. Although the incomes of scientists are above the national average, the level of moral motivation of young people is declining. Rejuvenating science requires additional measures, such as holding conferences and funding projects for young scientists. During the event, issues of motivation of young people in science, their current research topics, what prospects young scientists see for themselves, the losses suffered by Kazakh science in the decades of post-Soviet formation, the income of scientists, and the high degree of moral motivation of Kazakh scientists were discussed.
