The scientific elite of Kazakhstan, represented by professors of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, discusses with interest that our country, Kazakhstan, is initiating the creation of a Regional hub for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan in our country. As you know, the hub is translated from the English center, a node of some kind of network.
K. Tokayev stated this at the UN Summit, where the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are being discussed - a set of 17 interrelated goals developed by the UN General Assembly in 2015. After all, the solutions to these goals, including the eradication of poverty and the protection of the planet, should be implemented by 2030. Many of the goals are poorly solved or even "stalled" in the participating countries, therefore they require total control. In his speech, the President of Kazakhstan drew attention to the current global challenges, exacerbated by geopolitical upheavals that undermine the collective efforts of countries. These obstacles cannot be overcome by the forces of a single State. Only through the unity of the international community will we be able to achieve tangible results. This applies both to strengthening the international community and overcoming the climate, food and energy crises, which pose a serious threat to sustainable development. The priority is the demand of the Head of State to strengthen the principle of the "One United Nations" at the regional level to ensure better synergy.
The initiation by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the creation of a Regional SDG Hub in the Republic of Kazakhstan is very timely, as it will be aimed at ensuring effective coordination of UN project activities in the region. The President of Kazakhstan invited the Summit participants to breathe new life into the international financial architecture. Thus, the need was voiced to allocate more funds to solve environmental, education and health problems, to strengthen international cooperation in the field of technical support, scientific research and risk assessment under the auspices of the United Nations. The Sustainable Development Goals are the path to a better world for all and this is possible only through the interaction of all legal systems.
As the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.-Zh. K. Tokayev has visionarily emphasized that achieving the Sustainable Development Goals is a national priority for Kazakhstan!
