Georgiy Pavlovich Gladyshev

A well-known scientist in the field of natural sciences, Doctor of Chemical Sciences (1966), professor (1969) with a specialty in physical chemistry.

Born on September 19, 1936 in Alma-Ata. In 1954 he entered the Faculty of Chemistry of Kazakh State University named after S.M. Kirov and graduated in 1959 with honors. He specialized in the Department of Physical Chemistry, headed by Academician M.I. Usanovich. He completed his postgraduate studies at the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR under the scientific guidance of Academician S.R. Rafikov and in 1962 defended his candidate dissertation. Three years later, at the Institute of Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR, he completed his doctoral dissertation in the field of polymer chemistry, which he defended in 1966 in Moscow.

His research in the field of kinetics and mechanism of radical polymerization, stabilization of polymers, complex organic compositions and materials are known all over the world. He has created a number of pioneering technologies that have been introduced into industry with major economic effects.

He has expanded the theory of J.V. Gibbs in relation to complex heterogeneous systems and created the foundations of hierarchical thermodynamics; formulated the law of unidirectional series of lifetimes of structures of various hierarchies (the law of temporary hierarchies); created a thermodynamic theory of biological evolution (phylogeny) and aging (ontogenesis); proposed a physico-chemical model of the formation of planetary systems, predicting the existence of rings of Uranus, Neptune and periodic structures in the comets atmosphere; created models of the emergence of chirality in the bioworld; developed one of the models of ball lightning; described the phenomenon of periodic polymerization; proposed new chemical technologies. In recent years, he created the foundations of supramolecular thermodynamics and introduced ideas about the gerontological (anti-aging) value of food and biological compositions.

G.P. Gladyshev consulted a number of large scientific and industrial enterprises in Russia and Western countries; gave lectures (physical chemistry, chemistry of macromolecular compounds, molecular biology, medicinal chemistry, physical-chemical medicine and pharmacology) at universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Germany, China, USA, Canada, Japan and other countries.

Member of a number of academies and scientific societies, including: International Academy of Creativity (science-culture-social activities), Academy of Natural Sciences of the Russian Federation, International Academy of Higher Education Sciences, Academy of Engineering Sciences of the Russian Federation, World Academy of Sciences (Munich), Academy of World Literature, American Association for Scientific Advancement and others.

Member of the editorial board of a number of publishers and journals, including “Ukrainian Polymer Journal”, “Biosystems” (New York, London, Singapore), “Entropy” (Switzerland, USA). Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the new journal “Sum of Technologies” (Russia, USA).

G.P. Gladyshev is a winner of the Gold Medal of J.V. Gibbs, and many international awards and honors. He was awarded the Order of Glory (among five recipients in the entire history of this order, England), the Order of Creation and the Golden Sign of Ivan Pavlov (MAS) and others.

He has the lifetime titles of “World Intellectual” – Gold Medal, “Outstanding Person of the 20th Century” (Cambridge, England), “Great Representative of Progress”, “His Excellency” (USA).

His biography has been repeatedly published in the publications “Who is Who in the Modern World” (Russia), “Five Hundred Influential People” (USA), “Five Hundred First” (England), “2000 Famous People of the 20th Century” (England), “Who is Who in world" (USA) and many others.

G.P. Gladyshev paid and continues to pay a lot of attention to the training of scientific personnel; among his students there are more than 60 candidates and doctors of science. Many of them work in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

He published about 500 scientific papers. Author of 10 monographs, 40 copyright certificates and patents of the USSR, Russia, Kazakhstan, USA, England, Japan, France and other countries.

He was a head of the laboratory at the Institute of Chemical Physics named after N.N. Semenov of RAS and heads the International Academy of Creativity (Moscow, San Diego).
