A.Zhumabaev was born on October 4, 1951 in the village of Kok-Tobe, Enbekshikazakh district, Almaty region. Graduated in 1974 from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of Kazakh State University named S.M.Kirov, majoring in mathematics.
After graduating from the university, he worked as a referent for BIYT “Sputnik” and as an instructor at the Almaty Regional Committee of the Komsomol, senior economist at the Ministry of Food Industry of the Kazakh SSR.
A.Zhumabaev received a second higher education in absentia at the Alma-Ata Institute of National Economy. In 1979-1982, he studied in Moscow as a full-time graduate student at the All-Union Research Institute of Agricultural Economics. Candidate of Economic Sciences.
In 1982-1996, he held various responsible positions in the Office of the Almaty Regional Committee and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan, in the Government and Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At diplomatic work A.Zhumabaev has been since 1996: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Malaysia (November 1996 - April 1999), then Ambassador to Turkmenistan (April 1999 - January 2004).
Diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Ukraine were established on July 23, 1992. In December 2003, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Amankeldy Zhumabaev was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ukraine. Since March 2004, he has been the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Moldova (concurrently).
A.Zhumabaev was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2002), the Order of “Kurmet” (2007), and four anniversary medals. International awards: Order of Turkmenistan “For Love of Turkmenistan” (2003) and Order of Ukraine Prince Yaroslav the Wise (2008).
