Born on December 18, 1950 in the village of Zhanakorgan, Zhanakorgan district, Kyzylorda region. In 1968, he graduated from Kazakh secondary school №51 in the village Zhanakorgan of the Kyzylorda region with a silver medal. In 1968, he entered and in 1973 graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of S. M. Kirov Kazakh State University, majoring in Mechanics. From 1975 to 1979, he studied at the graduate school of this university.

In 1984, he defended his candidate's dissertation, in 1999 – his doctorate dissertation.

Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Member of the National Academy of Engineering of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Corresponding Member of the International Academy of Engineering. Member of the National Council for Science and Technology under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Head of the Department of Engineering Mechanics, KazNRTU named after K. Satpayev.

Founder, together with Professor M. Panfilov from the University of Lorraine in France, of the Kazakh-French center for double-diploma education in the master's program in geo-energetics.

Visiting professor at the AGH-Krakow University of Science and Technology in Poland (2009 – 2017) and the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine in France (2011 and 2012).

Area of scientific activity: fluid and gas mechanics, computational fluid dynamics, physical and chemical fluid dynamics, renewable energy sources, extraction of metals by borehole leaching. H-index according to Scopus – 12.

Prepared by 1 candidate of science and 14 PhD doctors in mechanics, including 1 candidate of science and 2 PhD doctors from the Arab Republic of Egypt. Two of the students – M. Tungatarova and A. Kuljabekov – defended their doctoral degrees at universities in Poland and France.

Twice winner of the competition “Best University Teacher of the Republic of Kazakhstan” in 2005 and 2011.

Laureate of the competition “Best Researcher of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (2021).

He was awarded the medals “10 years of Astana” and “25 years of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, the badge of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan “For merits in the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan” (2009), the Silver Al-Farabi medal “For significant work in the development of KazNU named after al-Farabi" (2020), badge "Bilim take isinin kurmetti kyzmetkeri" MES RK (2020).
