A.Satkaliev – Candidate of Economic Sciences (PhD), Honored Energy Engineer of the CIS (2003), member of the Energy Policy Council under the EurAsEC Integration Committee from the Republic of Kazakhstan, First Vice-President of “KEGOC” JSC.
A.Satkaliev was born on October 31, 1970 in Alma-Ata. From 1987 to 1992 Studied at al-Farabi Kazakh State University, majoring in mechanics, and received the qualification of mechanic, applied mathematician. In 2002, he defended his dissertation on the topic “Planning pipeline transport projects using the example of the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
From 1992 to 1997 was engaged in private commercial activities. In 1997-2001 worked at CJSC “National Oil Transportation Company” “KazTransOil” in the positions of manager, head of the clearing department, head of the project management department, managing director and vice president for economics. In 2001-2006 worked at “Kazakhstan Electric Network Management Company KEGOC” JSC as financial director, vice president for economics, and first vice president. From May 2006 to December 2007 – Director-Head of the Group for KEGOC JSC, Director for Electricity Asset Management of “Kazakhstan Holding for State Asset Management Samuryk” JSC.
From January to September 2007 – Vice Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
A.Satkaliev is one of the authors of the Action Plan for the development of the electric power industry for 2007-2015, approved by order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In September 2007, A.Satkaliev was appointed President and Chairman of the Board of JSC “Kazakhstan Electric Grid Management Company KEGOC”. In May 2008, he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association. Since October 2008 – First Vice President of “KEGOC” Joint Stock Company. Since March 2021, Almasadam Satkaliev has been the head of the “Samruk-Kazyna” national welfare fund. On April 4, 2023, he became the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan.
A.Satkaliev was a member of the Board of Directors of “Samuryk Holding” JSC, “Samuryk-Energo” JSC, “KEGOC” JSC, “KazKuat” JSC and “Ekibastuz Energy Center” JSC.
He took part in meetings of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS on May 25, 2007 in Yalta (Ukraine), the CIS Electric Power Council on June 29, 2007 in Moscow, the CIS Electric Power Council on October 10-14, 2007 in Dushanbe (Tajikistan) and the CIS Electric Power Council on October 13, 2006 in Astana.
A.Satkaliev was awarded the Order “Kurmet” (2008), the medals “Kazakhstan Constitution 10th Life” (2005), “10th Life Astana” (2008).
