The danger of religious extremist organizations for young people

On April 15, 2024, at 11:00 p.m., 4th-year students of the specialty "Biotechnology" with curator S.D. Atabayeva held a curatorial hour on the topic "The danger of religious extremist organizations for young people ".

The purpose of the event: Familiarization with current trends in the spread of religious extremist movements around the world, explaining the dangers that lie in wait for young people when they are attracted to these organizations, ways, and methods of recruiting young people to these organizations.

The students prepared a presentation. They defined extremism, and talked about the types of religious extremism: intra-confessional (aimed at a deep deformation of confession); non-confessional (aimed at the elimination of other faiths); personality-oriented (focused on the destructive transformation of personality); ethnoreligious (aimed at changing the ethnic group); religious-political (aimed at changing the political system); social (aimed at changing the socio-economic system). They showed a list of religious organizations banned in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and talked about measures to combat religious extremism. The curator held a conversation with the students about being vigilant, not subscribing to such religious extremist organizations on social networks, and not succumbing to their agitation.
