International scientific-practical conference on anti-corruption education in Kazakhstan
Management of the Compliance Control Service of the University took part in the International scientific-practical conference "Anti-corruption education: international experience and prospects for development in Kazakhstan" held at the University "NARXOZ".
The Conference was addressed by the heads of specialized government agencies and foreign speakers: the Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Combat Corruption Zhumagali Askhat Zhumagaliuly, Deputy Head of the Prevention Service of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Combat Corruption Zhiger Erkinbekovich Baidildin, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abylaikhan Akerke, Vladimir Kozin, UNODC Regional Advisor on Anti-Corruption, UNODC Office on Drugs and Crime in Central Asia, Fang Yan, International Affairs Officer, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, U.S. Department of State, experts from USAID's Justice for All Education Project, the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption, universities in Serbia, and others.
The event was also attended by rectors, vice-rectors and teachers of Kazakhstani universities, including specialized training institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Defense, Academy of Law Enforcement Agencies under the General Prosecutor's Office, as well as compliance officers of the quasi-governmental sector.
The aim is to discuss national and international practice of formation of anti-corruption culture through education and awareness raising, issues of implementation of the international initiative GRACE of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
During the meeting the Kazakhstan experience of anti-corruption education was presented, a new draft of a model anti-corruption curriculum for universities was presented. Implementation of this initiative is envisaged by the Concept of anti-corruption policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2026. Foreign experts were also presented to the current projects, such as the quest game "AntiParaCraft", a platform of anti-corruption online learning, a collection of didactic games "Adaldyk alippesi", "Hour of Integrity", "Fundamentals of Anti-Corruption Culture", summer anti-corruption schools, anti-corruption Olympiad, Academic Integrity League and others.
At the end of the event, the participants discussed the issues of strengthening and expanding cooperation in the development of anti-corruption education and implementation of international practices.
