Scientific seminar “The Impact of the Environment and Pollution on the Spread of Cancer” (SDG 3: Good health and well-being)

On May 03, 2024, at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, a scientific seminar  “The Impact of the Environment and Pollution on the Spread of Cancer” was held within the framework of sustainable development goals (SDG 3: Good health and well-being).

The event aims to develop an understanding of the importance of research on the impact of environmental pollution on the development and spread of cancer.

The report was made by 1st-year master's students of the EP “7M05105 - Genetics” Z. Dairbekova, R. Moiseev, A. Makhambetov. The reports presented a scientific analytical review of biology and genetics, causes and mechanisms of cancer development, current research on oncogenetics, and information on the spread of cancer in the world and Kazakhstan. Examples of major carcinogens and anticarcinogens were also given.
