Professor of KazNU presented her books to the school library
Laila Akhmetova, Professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, well-known historian, Academician of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio, held a meeting with students of school-gymnasium No. 68 on the topic "Panfilov Division. Preservation of historical memory".
The assembly, organized on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day and Victory Day, was attended by 9th and 10th grade students.
At the event Laila Seisembekovna shared new knowledge about the Second World War. Also in her speech the professor told about the feats of Kazakhstani batyrs at the front.
Laila Akhmetova is the author of more than 110 books, journalistic articles and substantial monographs about the defenders of the Brest Fortress and the fighters of the Panfilov Division.
He studies the events of the Second World War. Laila Akhmetova restores the names of her compatriots who died at the front and went missing. She was able to identify 635 fighters from Kazakhstan who defended the Brest Fortress.
During the meeting Lyayla Akhmetova presented 37 books to school-gymnasium No. 68 within the framework of the action "100 books for rural libraries". Among them there are such books as "Media Education of Kazakhstan", "UNESCO International Standards of Journalism in Kazakhstan", "Media zhane akparattyk sauattylyk", "Crossroads", "Pages of Blockade Memory", "Panfilovtsy: Our Pride, Our Glory", "Patriotism today: to the anniversary of Victory", "Political Marketing" and others.
This republican action was initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the event, students asked their questions to Prof. Lyayla Seysembekovna and received comprehensive answers.
