Speech by Aliya Aktymbayeva with a plenary report at the 14th Asian Tourism Forum
Aliya Aktymbayeva, Dean of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, acted as a plenary speaker at the 14th Asian Tourism Forum, held in Palembang, Indonesia. The topic of her report, “Integrating Scientific Innovation and Education in Tourism for Sustainable Development,” aroused significant interest among experts and forum participants. In her speech, Aliya Aktymbaeva emphasized the importance of integrating scientific innovations and educational approaches in the field of tourism to achieve sustainable development. She highlighted how integrating technology and curriculum can contribute to achieving specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as ensuring quality education (SDG 4), ensuring sustainable consumption and production patterns (SDG12), and combating climate change (SDG13). These measures, in her opinion, are critical to maintaining sustainable tourism, which contributes to socio-economic development and environmental protection.
During the plenary report, Aliya Aktymbayeva highlighted how scientific achievements can be integrated into educational programs that not only improve the quality of education, but also contribute to the development of new sustainable practices in tourism.
