Held a round table on the topic “Language Law and Legal Language”

On May 28, 2024 by the Institute of Linguistics named after. Akhmet Baitursynov held a round table on the topic “Language Law and Legal Language” 
The event was attended by famous linguists, lawyers, public figures of the republic, language policy specialists from government agencies, and university teachers. The event was also attended by Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan - A.T. Kuspan, senior lecturer at al-Farabi KazNU, Candidate of Legal Sciences - K. Dautaliev, Professor of Maqsut Narikbayev University, Candidate of Legal Sciences A. K. Zhumagali, Head of the Department of Language Development and Onomastics of the Almaty Akim’s Office B. A. Kalymbet, Lawyer at the Institute of Linguistics named after A. Baitursynov - K. G. Idrisov and others.
The moderator of the round table was the director of the Akhmet Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics - A. M. Fazylzhan.
The round table was attended by the head of the department of customs, financial, and environmental law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Law, Professor Guldana Amangeldievna Kuanalieva, who highlighted in detail the existing gaps in legislation in Kazakh language and presented specific proposals for their elimination. Her informative and deeply researched speech aroused great interest among the participants and became the key point of the event, laying the foundation for further detailed discussion and development of practical recommendations for improving legislation.
The round table was held as part of expert and analytical events with the aim of updating in society the basic values voiced at the site of the third meeting of the National Kurultai. The main issues of the relationship of languages in modern society, the legal status and functioning of the state language, and the effective implementation of state language policy were also discussed. The round table was held at a very high level.
