Rector of KazNU met with Tursyn Zhurtbay and Zhursin Yerman
Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebaev met with poet, honoured figure of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the International Union of Aytyskers, Akyns and Zhyrshy-Termeshi Zhursin Yerman and writer, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Abayevod, Alashevod Tursyn Zhurtbay.
Representatives of intellectuals arrived at KazNU to participate in the solemn event dedicated to the 50th anniversary since graduation from the university.
Head of the University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, emphasising the significant contribution of the writers to the development of national culture and spirituality, presented Zhursin Yerman and Tursyn Zhurtbay with gold medals ‘Eren enbegi ushin’.
‘KazNU, where you studied and gained knowledge, is now developing and prospering. For 50 years the country has changed, this year the educational institute celebrated its 90th anniversary. With the support of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, the second stage of modernisation of the KazNU campus was launched. Today you came to the university, got acquainted with its activities and talked to young people. The University is always proud of its outstanding graduates’, - said the Rector.
In turn, two-time winner of the M. Makatayev Prize, outstanding akyn Zhursin Erman congratulated the leading university on the anniversary and expressed warm wishes.
‘The jubilee of our native alma mater is a significant event. Today the university has turned into a major educational institution. I wish you success in your work. Let KazNU renew, expand, grow and develop in the future. We will always support it, we wish the best’, - said the poet. Tursyn Zhurtbai also spoke at the meeting, emphasising that he considers Al-Farabi Kazakh National University a golden cradle, where Kazakh national consciousness and system of thinking is reborn.
‘A university is a place that enables research and study of each nation's way of thinking, to learn the history of the past, to anticipate and orientate for the future. A nation will never rise to a high level unless specialists are trained to link the past, present and future. I believe that the university is the key to the future of intelligence, Kazakh education and science,’ said Tursyn Zhurtbai.
