On Thursday 03.10.2024 at 18:00 in the Red Hall of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics there was held the event MechFEST of youth public organisations, organised by the Student Dean's Office and with the active support of the Faculty Dean's Office management. The newly elected student dean was introduced to the first-year students, and all 8 youth public organisations working at the Faculty demonstrated skills in attracting new members to their ranks ‘Balmuzdaks’ and impressed the audience.
The event became a platform for exchange of ideas and networking among students, which promotes the development of social activity and involvement of young people in university life. In addition, participants were able to learn about a variety of opportunities to develop personal and professional skills, as well as learn about activities that address pressing issues of the day. These initiatives help to create a more cohesive and supportive community within the faculty.
Such an activity is directly linked to the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular Goal 4 - ensuring inclusive and quality education, and promoting lifelong learning opportunities. Creating an active student community fosters teamwork, leadership and social responsibility skills in young people, which further influences their professional development and contribution to a sustainable society.
