Inspection of Student Living Conditions in Dormitory №6
On October 14, 2024, senior advisor of the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty Bolat Abenov, along with members of the student council of Dormitory No. 6, conducted a thorough inspection of student living conditions. This initiative aims to identify student issues and needs, as well as to ensure their comfortable and safe living environment.
During the visit, the advisor and council members assessed the cleanliness and orderliness of the dormitory. Students shared their impressions of life in the dormitory, noting that the living conditions were generally satisfactory. The living quarters were clean and well-maintained, reflecting attention to domestic issues. Cleanliness and order in the dormitory contribute to the physical and mental health of students, creating favorable conditions for studying and relaxation.
However, during the discussion, it became clear that there is no specially equipped study room for preparing for classes in the dormitory. This creates certain difficulties for students. The advisor promised to consider the possibility of organizing study space in the near future.
The cafeteria and utility room were also on the agenda. Both areas were well-equipped: they have refrigerators and washing machines that function without issues, significantly easing the students' daily life.
At the same time, the inspection of living conditions also supports SDG 11, which concerns the sustainability of cities and communities. Comfortable and safe spaces for students are a step toward creating a sustainable and inclusive society. Ensuring access to necessary resources, such as study rooms and common areas, makes the dormitory more sustainable, contributing to social justice.
Nevertheless, some shortcomings were identified. Unfit furniture and chairs that do not meet comfort requirements were sent for repair. The advisor noted that caring for students and improving their living conditions are priority tasks for the university.
In conclusion, Bolat Abenov emphasized the importance of feedback from students. He urged them to actively share their suggestions and comments so that the university could respond promptly to emerging issues and improve the quality of life in the dormitories. Thus, initiatives to enhance living conditions in the dormitory contribute to both the health and well-being of students and the creation of sustainable conditions for living and learning.
