Within the framework of the implementation of the 3rd UN Sustainable Development Goal ‘Good Health and Well-being’, a supervisor's hour dedicated to the prevention of infectious diseases was held for the 2nd year students of the speciality ‘Meteorology’.
At the curatorial hour students learnt that infectious diseases can have a variety of causes and pose a significant threat to public health. Such dangerous infections as measles, influenza, tuberculosis, human papilloma virus and serous meningitis were discussed. The curator-adviser spoke in detail about each of these diseases, explaining their mechanisms of spread, symptoms and basic methods of prevention.
Important conclusions were made during the curatorial hour:
- Knowledge about the nature of infectious diseases helps in timely detection and prevention.
- Following a healthy lifestyle is one of the best ways to protect oneself from most infections.
- Everyone is responsible for their own health - taking care of their body and mind is an important step towards a long and healthy life.
At the end of the meeting it was noted that one of the ways to prevent all diseases is to follow a healthy lifestyle. Every person's health is in their hands!
