On October 29, as part of raising awareness about health and in line with third sustainable development goals (Good health and well-being), a meeting of the student audience with the doctor, head of the EURO MED medical center Bekzhan Akhmedov, was held on the issues of AIDS and tuberculosis. The meeting was organized by senior lecturers of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism Serik Mominov and Azamat Beisakhmet. During the meeting, the doctor explained in detail the mechanisms of transmission of HIV and Mycobacterium tuberculosis, emphasizing the importance of prevention, timely diagnosis and safe behavior.
The doctor explained the causes of AIDS, emphasizing the importance of early HIV testing, especially for young people. The routes of infection transmission (through blood, sexual contact, from mother to child) and prevention methods, including safe behavior and the use of barrier contraceptives, were discussed.
The specialist also described symptoms such as prolonged cough, weight loss, weakness, and explained that tuberculosis can develop latently, especially in people with weakened immunity. Risk factors and the need for vaccination (BCG) and regular fluorographic examinations for early detection of the disease were discussed. During the meeting, the doctor also noted the prevention and treatment programs available to students, including the possibility of free testing and counseling at medical institutions. The importance of regular medical examinations and the role of vaccination were emphasized.
