SDG 6 (Access to Clean Water and Sanitation) - International Legal Framework.

On 14 October 2024, the 2nd year Master's students of the English group of the speciality ‘International Law’ under the guidance of the lecturer of the Department of International Law Tatarinov D.V. held an open class in English in the framework of SDGs: SDG 6 (Access to Clean Water and Sanitation) - International Legal Framework.
The session covered key aspects of international law related to access to clean water and sanitation, including the following topics:
- The main international instruments governing the right to clean water and sanitation, such as UN Resolutions and the Water Convention.
- The role of international organisations in providing access to water and sanitation, including the work of the UN, WHO and UNICEF.
- Legal obligations of states under international treaties and agreements.
- Examples of successful practices in different countries aimed at realising the SDGs 6.
- Problems and challenges faced by states in providing access to clean water in the context of climate change and resource scarcity.
The session helped students to develop their skills in analysing international legal norms, improve their communication skills in English, and broaden their knowledge of an important global issue.
