Overview Lectures on Digital Engineering and VR/AR Technologies in the Context of Industry 4.0
On October 31 and November 1, 2024, Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi hosted overview lectures and a presentation dedicated to the practical application of modern digital engineering tools and VR/AR technologies in Industry 4.0. The speaker for the event was M.A. Koroblev, Director of the IT-concern “R-Pro” from Saint Petersburg, Russia.
The event was attended by specialists from Hyundai Kazakhstan and students from the Mechanical and Mathematical Faculty of KazNU. The lectures covered key aspects of digital engineering, the concept of digital twins, and the latest VR/AR/MR technologies. Participants learned about the application of these technologies for the automation and robotization of production processes, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9.
After the lectures, guests were taken on a tour of Kazakhstani enterprises and to the new Engineering Competence Center (ECC) for Industrial Robotics and Robotization (IRR) at KazNU, which is part of efforts to achieve SDG 17. This event provided a unique opportunity for students and specialists to delve into the modern technologies and practices being implemented in Kazakhstan’s industry.
Seminar participants were introduced to current scientific and practical directions and innovative achievements in the field of “Industry 4.0.” Discussions covered a wide range of topics, including automation, digitalization, and the implementation of new technologies in business processes, in accordance with SDG 8.
These events facilitated the exchange of knowledge and experience between specialists and students, highlighting the importance of integrating modern technologies into the educational process and practical activities. The participation of experts like Koroblev created a platform for further development and implementation of innovations in Kazakhstan’s industry.
