On October 10, 2024, as part of the implementation of SDG 16. "Promoting the building of a peaceful and open society in the interests of sustainable development.." students of the International Law OP together with the lecturer of the department, Ph.D. Tusupova A.Zh. held a discussion on the results of the Republican referendum.


During the discussion, the students presented the voting results presented by the CEC of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 7,820,204 people participated in the referendum, i.e. 63.66% of the total number of citizens eligible to vote. Of these, 71.12%, or 5,561,937 people supported the construction of a nuclear power plant. The students discussed the key advantages of the NPP, including its economic efficiency, stability of energy supply, environmental cleanliness and safety. Summing up, we came to the conclusion that the issue of safety should be in the first place during the construction of nuclear power facilities. The NPP project in Kazakhstan must comply with all international requirements and standards.
