“Know the Language of Seven People, Know the Seven Different Teachings”
Within the framework of SDG 4^ Quality Education on November 14, 2024, under the guidance of Senior Lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, Dr. A. Sargeltayeva, first-year doctoral students A. Ermagulova, Sh. Satkenova, and G. Schaden organized an educational and creative evening on the topic: “Know the Language of Seven People, Know the Seven Different Teachings” at Student House No. 17.
The purpose of the event was to promote the native language and inspire students to develop an interest in mastering other languages. In the modern era, multilingual proficiency is essential, and fostering a desire in the younger generation to learn world languages, while appreciating the nature, culture, and arts of other countries, is vital. Furthermore, the event emphasized the importance of cherishing and respecting one's native language, underscoring the idea that our national language should hold its place on the global stage alongside others.
During the event, the students engaged in answering intriguing questions, proverbs, and riddles in Russian, English, Turkish, and Chinese, broadening their intellectual horizons. Talented students also showcased their abilities in various languages. For instance, Berdibek Orynbek, the fourth-year student majoring in Literary Studies, recited the poem “Tymyk Tungy Sagynysh” in Chinese. Bekkuly Balnur, the second-year student of the same major, performed a fragment of the novel “Eugene Onegin” in Russian. Adalovna Ainaz captivated the audience by reading poems in English, receiving much praise and gratitude. Zhumageldy Toktarbek, a fourth-year student of Kazakh Language and Literature, performed heartfelt songs and kuis (traditional Kazakh instrumental pieces).
The evening concluded with a reflection on the event’s topic, encapsulated in the poem by poet K. Myrza-Ali:
"Know all other languages, respect your own language."
