Ethnographic Research in Museums: Lecture by T.E. Kartayeva

As part of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 17 "Partnerships for the Goals," staff members of the Abish Kekilbayev Mangystau Regional Museum of History and Local Lore are undergoing scientific internships and professional development at the Department of Archaeology, Ethnology, and Museology of the Faculty of History at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. During the internship, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor T.E. Kartayeva delivered a lecture on "Attribution, Interpretation of Museum Ethnographic Artifacts, and Publication of Research Results."

The lecture covered the main stages of researching museum ethnographic artifacts, uncovering their historical and cultural significance, and introducing them into scientific discourse.
Professor Kartayeva explained the scientific methods used in the attribution of museum artifacts, determining their cultural context and significance, and justifying historical data. Additionally, she provided information on the requirements and quality standards necessary for publishing research results in scientific journals. Such lectures help museum staff conduct their research more effectively, understand the importance of artifacts accurately, and present them to both the scientific community and the general public.
