Within the framework of the "Ideas of a New Kazakhstan", in order to educate a conscious and responsible youth with high intellectual potential through the improvement of the education system and the enhancement of its quality, the teaching staff and PhD students of the Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature Department of the Faculty of Philology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University conduct weekly educational and cognitive events within the framework of the University's Sustainable Development Goals.
On November 29, 2024, within the framework of "Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 – Quality Education", the senior lecturer Shortanbai Shokan Amangeldyuly and PhD student Ametova Gulsim Tinibekkyzy held an interuniversity open discussion platform devoted to analyzing the literary works: the novels "Kui", "Hansha – Daria" and "Shynyrau" by the outstanding writer, statesman and public figure, Abish Kekilbayev. The discussions focused on issues of national character, the value of statehood, the fate of the language, patriotism and love of the Motherland.
The cadets of the Military Engineering Institute of Radioelectronics and Communications of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the students of the Philological Faculty of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part in the event. This scientific and educational event was organized for the first time in this format.
The discussion began with a visit to A. Kasteev State Museum of Art, where the participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the richness of history in the format of a sightseeing tour of national culture. The central idea of the event was to unite future specialists of different professions around a common goal – understanding the sacred concept of the Motherland. It was emphasized that the people who have lost their language, forgotten history, ruined culture and land are doomed to disappear. The event is aimed at forming a new outlook among young people, developing creative initiatives, freedom of thought and fostering patriotism.
The discussion culminated in an in-depth analysis of Abish Kekilbayev's works. The participants addressed the hypotheses of the scientists, referring to their conclusions, and conducted an analysis using historical-social and historical-social methods.
In the story "Kui", the concept of "mankurt" remains relevant to this day. Mancurtism is a national tragedy. Only the methods have changed, but the essence remains the same. The moral and tragic consequences of tribal conflicts and land disputes in the middle of the XVIII century still resonate in modern times.
The story "Hansha – Dariya" intertwines legends and reality from the life of Genghis Khan. In the center of the story is the exalted spirit of a mother, the strength and greatness of a woman reflected in the image of a patriot who valued her people and homeland above her own life. The story is about an indomitable people who have not lost their dignity.
The novel "Shynyrau" introduces the reader to the history and culture of the Mangystau region, its geographical features. The hardships of life in the desert are described, where digging wells became a vital craft due to the acute shortage of water. The finale of this struggle for survival provokes deep philosophical reflections.
The works by Abish Kekilbayev play an important role in the education of future generations. The theme of the event effectively united students of various fields, contributing to the development of patriotism, cohesion and common purpose.
At the open discussion platform, the youth shared valuable knowledge and expressed important ideas. The cadets and students demonstrated a high level of preparation and activity. The stages of the discussion were logically linked, the event was dynamic, eventful and successfully achieved its goals.
