“The rights of children in Kazakhstan through the eyes of future lawyers”’

5 December 2024 at 14:00 within  framework of  16 SDG,  the lecturers of the Department of Foreign Langiages, Aisultanova K.A., Atabaeva G.K., Makharova G.S., Duysebaeva Sh.S., Kydyrbaeva G.B., Mikhalchenko E.N.  and the  students of the 1st year of the Faculty of Law  held an international event on the topic: “The rights of children in Kazakhstan through the eyes of future lawyers”’. The peculiarity of the event was that students from the  law faculties of the leading universities of  Mongolia joined the event through the Zoom platform and together with the  Kazakhstani students discussed  the issues of children's rights protection and considered  the ways to solve them. 20 students, including Rabvina Bolat, Saruul Batsaykhan, Doszhan Dilnaz, Alexey Nurbakyt, Bagdaulet Rabbina, Saltanat Nursaule, Mukhametan Ukilimai, Brizhneva Umit, Gulnur Jakhyt and Halimbek Anar from Mongolia, actively participated  online. During the event, the students discussed the issues of protecting children's rights from a modern perspective and suggested  the ways for future lawyers to address them in this direction.  The Kazakh and  the Mongolian students had an interesting exchange of views and interviews, the parties compared the legislative framework of their countries and exchanged experience.  The issues such as children's education, safety and protection from domestic violence were particularly relevant.

At the end of the event, along with the reports, the students of the Faculty of Law showed  the the performances of  national art. They  played  national melodies on the dombra and sang  national songs. At the end of the event, on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Law, the active students were presented with letters of appreciation. Among the awardees were Kazakh and Mongolian students. Such  a co-operation had a great impact on exchanging  thoughts and ideas  among  future lawyers at  a professional and international level. According to SDG 16   the protection of children's rights was discussed in order to create a peaceful, just and inclusive society. This goal  says about  the formation of a just society through the protection of children's rights. Such events  not only contribute to sharing knowledge  but also  instill  the responsibility towards society   in  future lawyers and allow them to gain international experience. The joint work of  the Kazakhstani and the  Mongolian students at this conference opened up new ideas and opportunities in addressing the protection of children's rights.
