On December 06, 2024 at the Department of “Foreign philology and translation studies” there was a lecture on the topic: “The mysteries of the frozen burial mound Berel” delivered by Elina Altynbekova, the restaurateur, the researcher and the employee of “Crimean Island” scientific restoration laboratory. The lecture had the elements of discussion.
18 guests, among whom were the lecturers and the students of the Faculty of Philology, PhD students of “Foreign philology” major and the participants of FLAGMAN international program attended the lecture.
During this event, the guests were introduced to the unique features of archaeological monuments of the Scythian-Saka period of the Berel and Issyk burial mounds, as well as with the geographical and climatic factors of the regions that allowed freezing and preserving the burials. As a result of the lecture, the guests expanded their knowledge of the ancient culture of Kazakhstan, its traditions and achievements, assessed the value of archaeological heritage and the need for its preservation, showed an interest in further study of the historical and cultural context of the Berel and Issyk nature protection zones. Active participation of the audience in the discussion and exchange of opinions contributed to the popularization of scientific research in the field of archaeology, history, linguistics and related sciences.
