Representatives of the Turkish hotel community held a Leadership Lecture for students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

The Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, in collaboration with Turkish partners, organized a leadership lecture titled “Education and Internships in Turkish Hotels”. The event took place at Farabi HUB and was organized within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 4 – Quality Education, as well as SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth.

During the lecture, opportunities for internships and education in leading hotels in Turkey were discussed, as well as current trends in the tourism and hospitality industry. Participants received valuable advice on building careers in the international tourism sector. The lecture strengthened partnerships between the university and representatives of the Turkish tourism sector, opening new prospects for students.

The lecture was attended not only by students of the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management, but also by representatives of other universities in Almaty, including the Kazakh British Technical University (KBTU), the University of International Business (UIB), Narxoz University, the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages ​​named after Ablai Khan and others.

Additionally, Turkish partners shared their experiences in the hotel business, highlighting the benefits of internships in Turkey and the skills in demand in the international tourism industry. Students learned about internship programs that provide not only practical knowledge but also an opportunity to explore Turkey's culture and traditions.

Particular attention was given to the importance of sustainable development in the tourism industry. Speakers emphasized how education and internships contribute to integrating principles of environmental and social responsibility in hotels. The event underlined the importance of preparing qualified specialists capable of working at an international level.

This lecture became a vivid example of intercultural and educational cooperation aimed at developing professional competencies and strengthening partnerships between universities and the business community.
