In order to fully and at a high quality level implement the tasks facing higher education, the teacher is obliged to constantly work on professional development, studying everything new that appears in the educational, methodological, scientific and research fields, not only in his specialty, but also in the educational process as a whole. This continuous work includes, among other things, assistance in the preparation and holding of conferences and seminars, and participation in them as a speaker.

Language training of foreign students (teaching Kazakh and Russian as foreign languages) requires teachers to constantly search for productive methods for students to achieve within one to two years the level of proficiency necessary to continue their studies at bachelor's, master's or doctoral level in the chosen language. Teachers of the Department of Language and General Education Training of Foreigners of the Faculty of Pre-university Education actively share their experience of working in a foreign audience. This process includes attending classes of colleagues, holding training seminars and scientific and practical conferences on a regular basis, permanent contact with colleagues from Russia, leading universities in Kazakhstan, Japan, China, Turkey, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan and others through the organization of online meetings of various formats.

In January, during the student holidays, events were held at the Department of Language and General Education Training for Foreigners, where an exchange of views took place on the most pressing issues of teaching Kazakh and Russian languages as foreign languages. Seminars were organized, as well as leadership lectures on the following topics: "Working with Google Scholar, Scopus and ORCID platforms to increase scientific productivity", "Ways to integrate into international educational and scientific programs: opportunities and challenges", "Using modern technologies in the educational process", "Psychological aspects of the formation of pedagogical competencies". The speakers were teachers of the department: associate professor Aitbayeva B., senior teachers Aitpayeva A., Koishybayeva G. The topics of the seminars and the issues discussed aroused the expected interest of all those present. This format of discussion is useful and effective, as practice shows.

Ultimately, such events are designed to work towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goal of providing quality education.
