A debate conference on the topic: "Only an honest citizen strives for a just society"
On January 20, 2025, at the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure, Labor Law, Faculty of Law, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Professor, Ph.D. Mukaldieva G. B., within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals of Kazakhstan (SDGs) at Almaty Polytechnic College, held a meeting to improve legal literacy, prevent juvenile delinquency, and form legal awareness, creating a just law, a just Kazakhstan. She also participated in a student debate conference on "An honest man is a fair Kazakhstan" and held a special event.
President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, speaking at the national kurultai, noted that the main goal is to create a just Kazakhstan. Its basis is the formation of an honest person, he stressed. Therefore, the basis for the formation of an honest person is the formation of legal literacy and culture, the path of justice, the coordinator of human interests, society, the state, the basis for the development of legality and democracy.
In this regard, every citizen of the country should know their rights, freedoms, and responsibilities. Every citizen should firmly adhere to the norms of law, the requirements of legality, and contribute to the formation of a legal culture and a just society. Only then will our state develop politically, economically, socially, and order will be strengthened.
Modernity is characterized by the fact that it places new demands on people, as the level of development of Kazakhstan is making profound changes in all spheres of society. One of the notable changes is the creation of a democratic State governed by the rule of law. Therefore, a modern person should be a person of high consciousness, responsible for his actions, able to quickly adapt to social changes, and make his own decisions.
At the same time, the country is striving to establish itself as a secular, rule-of-law, democratic state in the future. It is known that the mechanism for achieving this goal is youth. Therefore, measures are needed to improve legal knowledge and educate young people, assimilate human values, and form a personality.
"Legal literacy is a modern process of legal education, legal literacy, legal culture. Everyone should know their rights and know the general field of legal education. At the same time, the possibility of examining the illegality or conformity of actions taking place in society indicates its direct connection with legal literacy. By not skipping the law, by following a straight path, only a man who has served his country faithfully attains the ideal.
Only an honest citizen strives for a just society."
Three groups took part in the debate: Parasat, Azamat, and Akikat, students who not only shared their opinions, but also showed the mechanisms and prerequisites for creating a just new Kazakhstan. They had a valuable discussion, and through mutual questions and answers they discussed such topical issues as the creation of a fair Kazakhstan at the present time, the elimination of shortcomings, the strengthening of black spots necessary to eliminate shortcomings, and the improvement of legal literacy.
At the end of the event, it was noted that it is necessary to improve the legal literacy of the individual, legal awareness and culture of the individual, to educate educated, literate, hardworking, conscientious citizens, to find food for themselves, the main value of a person, and not only to instill these qualities to the younger generation, but also to form society as a whole.
At the end of the event, the results of the debate were summed up, the main recommendations and rational points were formulated. The participants of the debate were awarded diplomas of 1, 2 and 3 degrees.
