Coursera Qazaqstan project in the al-Farabi Kazakh National University
Results of the Coursera Project at KazNU
The results of the Coursera project, which was implemented from May to December 2024, have been summarized. The program, carried out with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, provided students with a unique opportunity to take online courses on the international Coursera platform. The project was carried out in three stages, which allowed for the most effective coverage of university students.
A key feature of the program was that the MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) were integrated into the taught disciplines, enabling students not only to acquire new knowledge but also to directly apply it in the process of mastering educational programs.
In total, from May to December 2024, 2920 students from KazNU joined the Coursera platform. Of these, 2875 students registered for various courses, and 2743 successfully completed at least one course. In total, 3754 courses were completed, demonstrating the high level of activity and interest among students.
The project became an important step in promoting online education and showed how the integration of MOOCs into the educational process helps students broaden their horizons and prepare for a successful career.
