An event on the topic "The Importance of Water Resources" was held at the Department of Pre-University Training. The purpose of the event was to familiarize young people with information about the significance of water resources, to assess the state of water reserves, methods of water protection and its effective use, as well as to develop skills for evaluation from economic and ecological perspectives.
During the event, information was presented about the quantity, significance, and scarcity of water resources. According to modern scientific research, freshwater resources make up only 2.5% of the total volume of water on Earth. Freshwater resources directly used by humans account for approximately 0.3% of the total volume of water. In particular, the issue of clean drinking water is especially relevant.
According to data from the United Nations, nearly half of the world's population experiences a lack of water. The population of Africa suffers particularly from a shortage of fresh water. According to experts, more than 780 million people on the planet do not have access to clean drinking water. And 1.7 billion people need sources of fresh water. Every year, millions of people die due to the lack of clean water and the associated unsanitary conditions.
Kazakhstan is among the countries with a shortage of water resources. Our country also faces a problem with drinking water.
Thus, today the quality and availability of drinking water have become a global issue. Ensuring access to safe drinking water is one of the most important social challenges. Therefore, we believe it is essential to make every effort to ensure the availability of this life-sustaining resource.
Moreover, it is important to consider not only the provision of drinking water but also effective ways to use it.
The event held aims to deeply explore these issues and propose the right solutions to promote the sustainable use and protection of water resources. In general, in everyday life, it is desirable to use fresh water as efficiently as possible.
