A refresher course was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University for the teaching staff of the Faculty of Law

At the leading university of Kazakhstan – Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a professional development course for the faculty of the Law School on the topic "Fundamentals of Law and Anti-Corruption Culture" was organized from January 20 to January 31, 2025. According to paragraph 4 of Article 37 of the Law on Education dated July 27, 2007, professional development for teachers must be carried out at least once every three years.

The course was organized by Doctor of Law, Professor A.S. Ibraeva, the chair of the Academic Committee for the training of higher education and postgraduate education personnel in the fields of 042 Law and 123 Public Safety. The course duration was 72 hours.

The course was conducted with the grant support of the university rector, J.K. Tuimebaev. It is noteworthy that Al-Farabi KazNU successfully operates the Institute of Advanced Training and Additional Education.

The course program included several modules covering theoretical, practical, and analytical methods. The topics discussed included the development of legal education in the modern era, key changes in various branches of law, and the formation of anti-corruption culture. Speakers included leading scholars and professors from the Law School.

They were: Doctor of Law, Professor A.S. Ibraeva; Doctor of Law, Professor D.M. Baymakhanova; Doctor of Law, Professor J.A. Kegembaeva; Candidate of Law, Professor A.B. Sharipova; Candidate of Law, Professor L.T. Kultemirova; Candidate of Law, Professor K. Kuandykov; Candidate of Law, Professor D. Ryskaliev; Candidate of Law, Associate Professor N. Myrzataev; and PhD Dr. K. Suraeva.

The course covered innovations in constitutional, administrative, criminal, labor, civil procedure, criminal procedure, and administrative procedure legislation. Professor K. Kuandykov's lecture on changes in water legislation and the legal regulation of water resources sparked significant interest.

The training was conducted in a mixed format (offline and online), which created convenient conditions for participation and attracted a wider audience. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical skills allowed teachers to deepen their understanding of law and analyze current issues using new approaches in discussions.

Professional development for the faculty of the Law School has a significant impact on the educational process. It helps update knowledge, study and apply modern teaching methods, develop professional skills, and increase motivation for professional development, all of which improve the quality of education. These factors contribute to the improvement of education quality, positively affecting the preparation of future lawyers and their competitiveness in the labor market.

Thus, professional development for the faculty of the Law School is an important element that contributes to improving the educational process and the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of law.

Upon completion of the course, certificates were awarded.
